Bluebell Bush
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 170 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of narrow, straight stems covered in delicate, waxy, yellow bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, wide, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue, intense purple and drab red varieties, tough and covered in fine hairs.
In mid-summer it produces balls of large, sky blue flowers with fan-like petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like cheap aftershave.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
