It takes 3 years for the emerald stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and waxy.

The sickle shaped, smooth leaves reach up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length. They are caramel with deep yellow tips, and have jagged edges.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
