Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized, lime green grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The broad, flat stalks grow in large clumps that are strong and tough.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, amber flower.
During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of large grains.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
