Bluebell

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 4 pleated stems. Each stem is sky blue, and is covered in many rigid purple spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are generally dark brown; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like baby powder.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the hazel flesh is rough, and the lilac sap is thin.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
All parts of the fruit tree are edible.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
