Indigo Maple

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is white.

The branches are very short and thin and are covered with very large amounts of soft, giant, teardrop-shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in indigo, pink and blue varieties.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, green, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
