Violet Spine Succulent

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 70 feet (21.3 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is vibrant orange, and is covered in brittle brown spines. The thick, gnarled, olive trunk can grow to as much as 70 feet (21.3 meters) in diameter. Its emerald branches are short, rigid and upright.

The toothed-edged, finger-like leaves are either pink, or violet with light grey lines. They are resilient, and do not detach easily.

It is very fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid slate petals and a subtle green central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the violet flesh is smooth, and the bronze sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
