Crimson Oasis

This enormous flower grows up to 15.9 feet (4.9 meters) tall. Its green and yellow-green stem is thick, and the tiny, silver leaves are light pink-red on the underside and are 4 pointed with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

2 to 5 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 30 cm (11.8 inches) wide, with solid crimson petals decorated with blue lines and a vibrant orange central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like new books, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
