Brownpetal

Flower type: Annual (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This huge flower grows up to 16.5 feet (5.0 meters) tall. Its pastel red stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, gray leaves are 9 pointed with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single giant flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 46 cm (18.1 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of brown. The flower head is shaped like a tube made up of 11 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like alcohol, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.

The grass is sweet and very non-toxic and while grains are spicy and overwhelmingly toxic.
