Bluebell

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This huge flower grows up to 7.4 feet (2.3 meters) tall. Its lime green stem is very thin, and the huge, yellow-green leaves are very thick with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 90 cm (35.4 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of faded blue. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has an intense scent that smells like freshly baked bread, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a variety of insects.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
