Copperbell Shrubby

This large shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 112 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several thick, straight stems covered in hard, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are very short and thin that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, circular, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either copper or blood red, with cream patches, frail and fuzzy.

In early spring it produces many balls of small, gentle orange flowers with oval-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like apple.
