Gray Petal Flower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its brown stem is wispy, and the tiny, gray leaves are dark orange on the underside and are needle-like with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with grey petals and a yellow center. The flower head is largely flat with 47 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are hardy.
It has a weak scent that smells like mango, and it has lots of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It can survive a long time without water.
