Crimson Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized tree grows up to 12 meters (39.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 661 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in thin, ridged, light brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is light brown.
The small handful of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of leathery, giant, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid washed-out red or cream, with gentle yellow edges.
In late summer it forms tiny, orange, shelled seeds.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
