Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in fine, waxy, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black with white speckles.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of giant, very narrow and elongated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are amber and beige.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of large, sky blue blossoms with shield-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like varnish.

In mid-autumn it produces , needle-like fruit. The hairy peach skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy dark grey flesh is sweet and juicy. The lime seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
