Bloodvine
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized cactus grows up to 35 feet (10.7 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 2 pleated stems. Each stem is magenta or blood red, and is dotted with small black spines.
It is fast growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid intense red petals decorated with deep green lines and a caramel central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like rotting meat.
The cactus's skin is very thick, the green flesh is smooth, and the copper sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
