Copper Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In damp forests, and On trees.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very frail; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
