Bronze Succulent

This small caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The thick stem is gray, and is covered in brittle black spines. It has a crooked, very thick, cream trunk atop a slender block of rough, exposed roots. The branches are thick and bronze and are very long and thick.

The jagged-edged, perforated leaves are generally bronze. They are rigid, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of gold grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 17 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like meat.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the hazel flesh is waxy, and the silver sap is thin.
