Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In damp forests, and In heathlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is slightly sturdy; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
