Copperleaf

This small leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The tapering stem is magenta, and is covered in brittle cream spines. The toothed-edged, circular leaves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to purple at the top. Small amounts of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are delicate, and detach easily.

It is very fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid black petals decorated with bronze dots and a blood red central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 47 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight heart. It has a delicate scent that smells like lemon.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the cyan flesh is rough, and the washed-out green sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
