Copper

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its ashy blue stems grow in bunches of 5 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the large, copper and yellow leaves are dark brown on the underside and are very thick with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 2 to 7 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of gold. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 34 curved petals. They are sturdy.

It has a weak scent that smells like fish, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
