Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in very thick, smooth, silver and white bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either magenta, or crimson with indigo zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of giant, red blossoms with long, tapering petals. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like pot-purri.

In early summer it produces tiny, cuboid fruit. The fuzzy caramel skin is delicate and sweet, and the crunchy crimson flesh is bitter and sour and dry. The red seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
Offering it in a bouquet is supposed to bring good luck.
