Copperflower

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is very thin, and the small, copper leaves are needle-like with tattered edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Each stem splits 1 to 3 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of red. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 51 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like rich perfume, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
