Copperleaf

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 11 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, slanted stems covered in thick, silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are very long and thick that and are covered with large amounts of small, long, tapering, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are blue at the bottom and white with indigo lines at the top, flimsy and waxy.

It produces lots of large, silver flowers with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like freshly baked bread. In late autumn it forms smallred aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
