Bluebell

This large flower grows up to 3.3 feet (99 cm) tall. Its moss green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are very thin and straight, and split into numerous branching stems at the base, and the huge, sky blue leaves are long, tapering with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

1 to 4 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 12 cm (4.7 inches) wide, with yellow petals on the lower layer and dull blue petals decorated with green dots on the inner layer. The central disk is aquamarine. The flower head is made up of 22 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They detach easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like pepper, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
