Mahogany

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This huge shrub grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for around 14 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of flexible, straight stems covered in delicate, silky, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with thick bunches of small, sickle shaped, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either azure or faded purple, with muted red lines, strong and covered in fine hairs.

It produces balls of small, indigo flowers with flame-shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like warm milk. In late autumn it forms giantcrimson, tough-shelled seeds.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for use as a construction material
