Creamy Purple

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its cream stems grow in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and the huge, lime green leaves are grey on the underside and are asymmetrical with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 29 cm (11.4 inches) wide, with solid faded purple petals decorated with blue lines and a brown central disk. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. They are hardy.

It has a weak scent that smells like damp, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
