Copperbell

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 139 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous stocky, straight stems covered in delicate, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches trail down across the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of huge, long, narrow, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are generally pink, frail and smooth.

In early summer it produces hundreds of large, pink flowers with 4 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like leather.
